Good putters know that practice is the key to great putting.

Variables such as the speed of the green, the green’s contour, conditions and more all go into how your putt will roll out.

Putting streaky so some days you won’t make a thing; others you sink everything you see.

Because of that it is only adds to confidence if you practice putting, especially with golf putting mirror.

We use the golf putting alignment mirror from eyelinegolf.com golf.

It is lightweight, comes in a nice bag you can carry in your golf bag.  It is very intuitive to use and can be used at home or on the course.

You’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to sink those 3-6 foot putts.  Longer putts will come closer (if not it) to the cup after you practice diligently with the golf putting mirror.

Poor alignment is the major cause of missed putts. Using the Alignment Mirror will create confidence on the green.

The Putting Alignment Mirror is the perfect way to get ready to play. Toss it down, line it up, check your setup lines, and build confidence.

Step 1 – Set up the Alignment Mirror

Align the mirror on your target line.  Make sure to read the green to account for small turns.  Set your stance to the center line of the alignment mirror.  Place the mirror 4-6 feet from the cup.

Place two tees in the mirror to replicate a ‘gate’ for which your putter head will pass through.

You may also want to mark a straight line on your ball to align it properly on the mirror.  See the image above to see how to properly align the mirror, tees and your golf ball.

Step 2 – Align your body with the Golf Putting Mirror

Set up your feet, shoulders parallel to the hole.

Align your head over the mirror so that you can see your eyes reflecting along the mirror target line.

Align your putter face on the red line of the mirror, absolutely square to the target line.

Step 3 – Hone in your back swing

The best putters only take back their putter a short distance, then follow through the ball.  This helps maintain a consistent and repeatable stroke.

Better putters have the identical stroke tempo for each and every putt.

You can place a tee on the back of the golf putting mirror to restrict the back swing on your putt.

Step 4 – Make a bunch of putts to build your confidence

One you are aligned to the hole, sink a dozen or so short putts using the steps mentioned above.

Once you’ve holed several putts in a row you will have the confidence you need when you get on the green.

Step 5 – Practice putting before, after and during non-rounds

Good putters always practice putting.  It’s a great way to build the feel for putt speed, distance control and direction.

There are many putting games available to help keep you focused on your putting training efforts.  Spend a half hour a days on putting (at home or on the course) and your game will improve significantly.

Enjoy Better Putting

Practicing putting with a mirror will improve your putting score and make your round more enjoyable.

There are numerous putting practice games, techniques and tools you can use to take the boredom out of putting practice.

Make you game day more fun by spending time on the greens.
